Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules: the ingredients
The Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules are packed full of skin-boosting ingredients, the hero being Fernblock+, which is also featured in every Heliocare 360° product.
Fernblock+® Antioxidant Technology
Fernblock® is Heliocare’s exclusive ingredient that takes skin protection beyond sunscreen to help boost the skin’s daily defences against free-radical damage caused by daylight, helping to prevent and repair damage to skin health and prevent premature skin ageing.
Fernblock® is a unique extract of the tropical fern Polypodium leucotomos (PLE) which grows in Central and South America. Originally an aquatic plant, PLE evolved to thrive on land developing natural antioxidant defences against solar radiation and environmental free radicals. PLE was well-known by native populations for its anti-inflammatory activity in the treatment of dermatological conditions such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
With years of research and development and over 80 scientific publications written on Fernblock®, we’re still discovering just what Fernblock® is capable of, however the known benefits of Fernblock® to skin health are remarkable and clinically proven, including:

Niacinamide: a skincare heavyweight
Niacinamide is widely recognised as a hero skincare ingredient and is the perfect partner for Fernblock:

Vitamin D: essential for healthy bones and teeth
Our bodies are able to generate Vitamin D when the skin is exposed to sunlight, specifically UVB. UVB is only really present in the summer months and cannot penetrate clouds, so our exposure in the UK is limited, which is why the NHS recommend that everyone should consider taking a daily Vitamin D supplement.
Vitamin D is important for:
- Strengthening of bones and teeth
- Your immune system
Vitamin D also has an anticarcinogenic action particularly with regard to colon, prostate and lung cancer.
Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules contain 5 micrograms of Vitamin D which is equivalent to 100% of the EU daily recommended dose or 50% of the current UK guidance giving you an added vitamin D boost!
Vitamin E: antioxidant back-up
To optimise the level of antioxidant protection they provide, the Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules also contain 12mg of Vitamin E – yet another antioxidant to help fight the battle against free radicals released in the skin.
Who are the Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules for?
The Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules are ideal for everyday use for patients with specific skin indications such as Actinic Keratosis and Melasma, or those undergoing a course of aesthetics procedures, such as chemical peels, laser and RF microneedling, to help protect and repair skin damage.
The supplements can also be used during long or intense periods of sun exposure for all skin types including sun-sensitive skin, giving an intense antioxidant boost when skin needs it most.
How do I use the Heliocare 360° D-Plus Capsules?
Patients can simply take one capsule in the morning or at least 30 minutes before sun exposure. One capsule is effective for 8 hours, so there’s no need to take another during the day. Oral Fernblock® has demonstrated a cumulative effect (Schlaka, 2014) however, so for maximum protection patients may wish to start taking the supplements a month prior to intense sun exposure (i.e. on holidays) or prior to their clinical treatment.
Whilst the Heliocare 360° Oral Supplements are a great addition to your daily routine in helping to protect and boost skin health, it’s important to remember that they are not a replacement for the use of topical sun protection and should always be used in combination with a topical Heliocare® 360° Cream or Gel.
